“We never expected such a tragedy to befall our Aradhya.”
It’s been ten days since she was admitted and our lives have taken a turn for the worse. She was diagnosed with Gaucher’s disease, a genetic disorder where the body can't break down a certain fat, leading to enlarged organs, bone pain, and blood problems.
It shattered me to learn that this disease was hereditary. I couldn’t stop feeling guilty, thinking I might have passed it on to her. My husband Rajashaker consoled me, saying I must stay strong for her.
Only a Bone Marrow Transplant can save Aradhya, but it costs INR 25,00,000.00, an amount we can’t afford. We need your help to save her.
It all started two weeks ago when Aradhya began vomiting and had severe diarrhea. At first, I thought it wasn't serious, but it got worse. Rajashaker and I took her to our local doctor. He examined her and gave us medicine to use at home.
Everything seemed okay until the third day. When I went to check on her, I saw that her body was red and her stomach had swelled up. I tried to comfort her, she seemed to be in pain from my touch. It broke my heart.
I immediately rushed her to the doctor. On the way there, she vomited again. I couldn’t stop crying because I didn’t know what was wrong with her. All I wanted was for her to get better.
The doctor immediately admitted her. While they ran tests, I called Rajashaker to the hospital. I told him what happened and he was equally heartbroken.
After waiting for a few hours, the doctors gave us the diagnosis - "She needs a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT). Her liver is swollen, and she may not have much time left.”
I couldn’t believe my ears. She isn’t even a year old, and yet she was facing such a serious illness. With tears in my eyes, I asked the doctors to begin the treatment.
"Since we don’t have the necessary equipment here, we will transfer her to another hospital,” they said.
I felt hopeful when we arrived at the new hospital. "Aradhya will come back to us healthy," I thought, until I learned that a Bone Marrow Transplant costs INR 25,00,000.00
Rajashaker drives an auto, and I stay at home. His income is inconsistent, about ₹10,000 a month. It is barely enough to sustain the three of us. How can we manage such a large amount?
Aradhya is our only child, and we will do anything to save her. Please help us give her another chance at life. As a mother, it's my only wish. Please.
