“When the doctors confirmed my pregnancy, I felt the happiest. We were all hopeful for a healthy child, but fate had something worse planned for us,” explained Nikita.

A year after their marriage, Nikita and Bhausaheb welcomed their son into their lives. But, three days after the birth, he started facing breathing issues.

His parents rushed him to the doctor for a checkup.

“Based on the 2D echo test, your son has a heart defect," informed the doctors.

After hearing such devastating news, it felt like hell broke loose on the family…

“I couldn’t believe my ears with the doctors' diagnosis. He’s a newborn, why does he have to suffer this way? Moreover, what to do now?” exclaimed Nikita.

On September 11, 2022, the family was referred to Kokilaben Hospital, where the doctors did a CT scan, several blood tests, and 2D echo tests.

“We are afraid to inform you that your son’s condition is dire. We recommend that you undertake immediate open-heart surgery. He has a hole in his heart, and any delay in undertaking the surgery will put his life at risk.” added the doctors.

Nikita’s son underwent open heart surgery on September 15, 2022. During the surgery, a stand was implanted to help improve his condition.

However, things did not settle even after that…

“After 21 days, my son’s situation improved, and we heaved a sigh of relief.

But we went for his checkup the following month, and the doctors ran some tests on him, concluding that the surgery was unsuccessful and he needed another operation.

They further informed me that my baby has a blocked cardiac nerve, ” spoke Nikita.

So on 27th January 2022, another surgery was performed to open the nerve blockage.

But it seemed like their misery was far from over.

A month later, in February 2022, when they returned for a follow-up visit, the doctors conveyed the news that shattered every bit of the remaining hope…

“Based on the current tests, the implanted stand had grown. He needs another surgery within three months to prevent further deterioration of his condition.

The surgery will cost INR 3,91,500.00,” the doctors added.

As heartbreaking the news of another surgery was, the amount required acted like an added bullet.

“My husband is the sole earner of our family. His meagre income as a farmer barely supports us.

We’ve exhausted every penny we had. Even borrowed money from our relatives, and took several high-interest loans, to keep up with the cost of the treatment.

Now we don’t have any resources left.” sobs Nikita.

Nikita’s newborn hasn’t been able to sleep peacefully for one night due to his breathing issues. He’s just a baby, and no one his age deserves such a fate. Only you have the power to rescue him from his fate.

Thus, please step up, and help them with a generous donation.
