Support our Blind Dogs at IDA Deonar Centre

Right in the heart of our IDA Centre at Deonar, is situated the most precious ward of all. It is the Blind Ward where our elderly blind and handicapped dogs are cared for and kept safe and sound at all times.

We take in as many as we can, making sure that each one has enough space. Each dog is so old that all need extra special care. As each one comes in, they are sent to the Ophthalmologist for an eye checkup to identify the cause of blindness and provide remedies and relief. Sometimes an operation is possible one of our dogs can now see!

We have caring gentle hands to see to their daily needs..Protection from cold, nutritious meals served, baths to be given and nails to be cut. Asst Radha is in charge and sees to their every need. For enrichment we have built an attached garden where they feel the soil under their feet and can enjoy the interesting aromas of the plants all around.

Each of these dogs has lived a hard life on the city streets and survived. Caring for them is the least we can do and so fulfilling for all concerned.
