Fundraiser Ended! This fundraiser ended on May 19, 2021
80% of the Covid-19 infection cases in Pune were treated at private hospitals.
But most private hospitals are unable to locate the funds to become COVID-READY!
Dr. K.T.Mohan is our local medical saviour. He has been working tirelessly to equip his patients against COVID 19. But he needs our help to add crucial equipment like ventilators to the private “Ashraya Hospital” in order to make it COVID-Ready.
“Will we be next”- our heart despaired!
These are trying times for all of us in India, especially in Pune. Yesterday we were trying to find a ventilator for our colleague, Jatin, in Pune whose SPO2 levels were at 70.
Our hunt took the whole day, while the patient was gasping for air. We used all our connections, but felt so helpless! There are huge waitlists and despite all our connects, we found it so hard to get a bed. I shudder to think what a commoner would be going through. ..
In times of such need, we always reach out to Dr KT Mohan to seek help. His facility, Ashraya Hospital, which could carry 35 beds was not fully functional due to lack of funds. In spite of that, he kept providing tips on how to handle the situation. We did finally find a bed with ventilator at around 7 pm at a small hospital, thus giving Jatin a ray of hope....
Ashraya Hospital – Dr. KT Mohan’s mission
Dr. KT Mohan, as a ground-level worker during Covid Crisis, is trying his best to unblock bottlenecks. He is addressing Pune, a Tier 2 city, reeling under Covid crisis like Mumbai.
He has started a dedicated 35 bed Government approved Covid hospital in Wakad 2 weeks ago, but just like other small hospitals, it requires funds for staff and upgrade of equipment.
We realized the pressing moment at this hour is to facilitate every small hospital with adequate supplies and equipment so that infrastructure could be created to cater to the rising needs of COVID patients.
We humbly request you all netizens to contribute, to enable Ashraya to be fully functional. Your contribution will go a long way to save another Jatin!
