Introducing swan( rajhans ) in the Haralur lake, Bangalore

Swans( rajhans) were so beautiful than in olden times, kings used to keep swan in the raj sarovars/lakes. Saraswati, the god of wisdom use swan as her vichicle.

Unfortunately next-generation doesn't seen much of this beautiful waterfowl family (anatidea) since, concrete jungles we live in today. The swans will look magnificent in their natural environment. Moreover, the wild swans are aggressive and thereby capable of protecting themselves from wild animals like cats, dogs, eagles, owls etc.

Harlur/Lakedew lake is beautiful, clean and large. A in this sami-wild environment couple of swans will be comfortable very much. They Will definitely enhance the beauty of harluru lake.It will attract more kids to the lake.

Bring swans into their natural environment.

As a part of the pilot experiment, Anirban bought pair of peking ducks(white colour) from Shivaji Nagar's pet shop and introduced them to Harlur/Lakedew lake on 20th January 2021. You can relish them at your convenience. Since this Peking ducks are doing well, Anirban, with help Amardeep, Sarbjyot, and Pratyush, increasesed the number of Peking duck and added Manila duch on 13thbh April. Now the lake has this following ducks, you all are visible there.

Since the introduction of duck in two phase are quite successful, we can take risk to introduce swan which is the primary goal. Many of lake neighbors have shown there. Without community efforts, it is impossible to do environment beautification process.

The cost for a pair of swan is Rs. 15000 and it is expensive for a single individual to bear this expense. This crowdfunding campaign will help distribute the cost of rehabilitating swans in their natural environment. The swans will be sourced from Shri Krishna Poultry Farm (http://www.srikrishnapoultryfarm.org/). A pair is introduced instead of a single swan because they mate for life. The 1st pair , they do well in this lake, we can think to increase the number in next phase. Please join your hand , to enrich the environment with magnificent live swans.
