Fundraiser Ended! This fundraiser ended on December 1, 2020
Hi, my name is Tanmay from Pune, India. I'm a congenital (by birth) amputee by my left forearm. For all 23 years of my life, I have adapted to doing things with one hand. I have avoided using any prosthesis, because most of them only proved to be inconvenient.
But in the last few years, my work profile includes me either operating a camera or sitting in front of a computer for long hours. As an aspiring filmmaker/graphic designer it has always been my dream to make quality video content but it takes a toll on my body to shoot with one hand. It also makes it really hard to access the full functions of a professional camera. Similarly, I have to always bend on the keyboard to use my left stump while editing, which ends up hurting my back frequently.
Why is the bionic arm so expensive?
BeBionic is a myoelectric prosthesis that would allow me to make individual finger movements to form multiple grip patterns; so I could do various detailed tasks with ease. Apart from that, the bionic arm will help me gain back body balance and symmetry, which are pretty out of proportion due to working my right arm the most since so many years. I'm also hoping that it would positively affect my personality and confidence in social life.
You can learn more about the bionic arm here:

It will take us a long time to save up for the arm due to my family's current financial obligations, as well as my own. Hence, I am turning to crowd sourcing for help. I eagerly look forward to getting my bionic extension and pursuing my life and passions without restraint. I will be forever grateful for your contribution, help and support!
