Adline's Fundraiser for Agricultural Equipment for Food Growing Women Farmers of India

As a widely known fact now, coronavirus has challenged our health and economic security. The most unsecured are the livelihoods of vulnerable women from rural areas. Especially in Buldhana, which is one of the major drought-prone districts in the Vidarbha region, women-headed households face the highest risk of earning a living.

Their livelihood is dependent ONLY ON AGRICULTURE. These women and their families should not be overlooked during this economic crisis. As a step to support them in these crucial times, this initiative aims to provide help to these groups of women food-growers. The village lacks advanced agricultural technologies to boost the income gained through crop cultivation. Gifting these women groups with agricultural equipment will solve a dual purpose through this initiative. It will help the women to earn a supplementary income by renting out equipment to other farmers in the villages as well as will enable to strengthen the agricultural yield of these farmers. 

Action:

 Through this initiative, we aim to mitigate the situation by supporting with the following: 

→ Women Self-Help Groups will be supported by setting Agricultural Resource Centers. 

→ These centers will be equipped with advanced agricultural equipment. Details are given below: o Hydraulic pre-cultivation farming equipment (Mongada Pattipas 3 Phad -1)

o Sowing equipment o Petrol Pump Spray (for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level spraying) 

o Sprinkler Sets (for Protective irrigation system) 

o Ripper and Thrasher Unit (Crop harvesting Equipment) 

→ Demonstration training will be provided to these groups of women 

→ Women groups will rent out these types of equipment to the farmers in villages and nearby communities. 

→ The equipment will also help these women to use in their farmlands to strengthen their agricultural production.

 Impact :

This support will enable us to bring the following impact in the lives of these women and their communities: 

✓ Livelihoods of around 50 Women from Self-Help Groups will be secured to cope up not only during the pandemic crisis but also while dealing with the new normal. 

✓ The equipment will directly benefit around 500 farmers each year right from the process of cultivation to harvesting the yield. 

✓ Around 5800 people from the families of these communities will reap the benefits of the income earned through Agriculture Resource Centers. 

✓ These communities will be able to access the equipment for the production processes in both Rabi and Kharif seasons of cultivation.
